• The 55th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum was held in Davos, Switzerland. David Beckham, Diane Vonfurstenberg and Riken Yamamoto were honoured with the Crystal Award for their outstanding contribution to social, environmental and creative change. David Beckham = UK footballer, he was honoured for his 20 years of contribution in improving the lives of children as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Diane Vonfurstenberg (Belgium) = She got it for her contribution in promoting Women’s Rights and Gender Equality. Riken Yamamoto (Japan) = For architectural design promoting Environmental and Social Responsibility. Crystal Award = It is given by WEF to those artists who have used their art to improve the condition of the world.

• On the occasion of National Girl Child Day 2025, Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Shruti Chaudhary launched the ‘Samman Sanjivani’ app of ‘Mahila and Kishori Samman Yojana’.
• The app will help track the delivery of benefits of the scheme to the beneficiaries.
• Under the ‘Mahila and Kishori Samman Yojana’, sanitary napkins are provided to BPL women and girls aged 10 to 45 years.
• These benefits are given through Anganwadi centres and schools.

• This app will collect the data of all the beneficiaries and update the benefits monthly.
• Rakesh Kadian of Haryana has hoisted the Indian flag by successfully climbing the world’s highest peak Mount Everest (8848m) and the world’s fourth highest peak Mount Lhotse (8516m) within 2 days.
• In this way, Kadian’s name was registered in the London Book of World
  Records for becoming the world’s first mountaineer at the age of 45.
